Quartz Crystal
Quartz crystal, SiO2, is used as a wave retardation medium. Its properties are in use in quarter-wave plates and in polarisers. Quartz material should not be used at temperatures greater than 490ºC.

- Transmission range of 0.18µm up to 4µm
- Refractive index ~1.5
